§ 20. Creation of offices; tenure; powers and duties; bonds.
The town council shall have the power and is hereby authorized to create such offices, and to provide by ordinance or resolution for the appointment or election of such officers and employees as may in their judgment be necessary for the good government of the town. The town council shall have the power at any time to abolish any office created by it. All employees, officers and officials of the town appointed by the town council shall hold such office during the pleasure of the town council at such salaries as may be fixed by it, and may be removed from office and discharged by the town council at any time with or without cause. The town council shall have power to prescribe the powers and duties of all officers and employees of the town, except those prescribed by this Act. Employees of the town may be required to give such bond as the town council may prescribe by ordinance or resolution and may be required to take oath to faithfully discharge their several duties.
