§ 9-8. Collection fees; remedies for nonpayment.

  • (a)

    Each separate family residing within the town shall pay a monthly garbage, trash and recycling fee of thirteen dollars ($13.00).

    (b)

    Commercial A establishments except those classified in paragraph (c) shall pay a monthly garbage and trash fee equal to the actual costs charged to the town by the contractor performing the service plus an administrative fee of fifteen (15) percent of the cost charged. The fee shall cover two pickups per week. Additional pickups shall be charged on the same basis.

    (c)

    Commercial B establishments shall pay a monthly garbage and trash collection fee of thirty-four dollars ($34.00). If part of the establishment is used for residential purposes, a three-dollar ($3.00) recycling fee will be assessed.

    (d)

    The town reserves the right to, in its sole discretion, find that a commercial or business establishment or other user of the town's garbage collection system has an unusual output of garbage and trash; and as to such user, the town shall set, after due notice to the user, a garbage and trash collection rate for such user, but in no event shall the rate be less than thirty-four dollars ($34.00).

    (e)

    In addition to all of its conventional remedies, the town may enforce for the payment of garbage and trash collection fees and any penalty fees imposed provided in this section by cutoff of water and water meters servicing delinquent account.
