§ 2-73. Town vehicles.

  • (a)

    An employee must obtain permission from his or her direct supervisor to use town vehicles for out of town travel. Use of town vehicles for traveling to and from work shall be decided by the direct supervisor, but shall not exceed a five (5) mile radius of the town limits. Whenever possible, town vehicles will be used for traveling to and from authorized meetings, functions and training sessions. Any out of pocket expenses such as parking, tolls, emergency repairs, etc., shall be reimbursed upon presentation of receipts. Unauthorized use of town vehicles will be reason for disciplinary action.

    (b)

    No one under the age of eighteen (18) will be permitted to ride in a town vehicle, unless on official business.

    (c)

    Town equipment shall not be used, except by employees on town business during the hours for which they are being compensated.

    (d)

    If an employee living outside the town limits is allowed to drive a vehicle home it will not be used as a personal vehicle.
