§ 21-6. Same—Lien for unpaid charges.

  • If a utility bill remains unpaid for fifteen (15) days after service of the notice provided for in section 21-4, and either no hearing was requested or after a hearing the charges were found to be proper, then the enforcement official may record in the official records a notice of lien in the amount of the unpaid charges. The lien thus created shall have priority over all other liens except tax liens and may be foreclosed as provided by law.
