§ 13-20. Fire safety.
In order to provide for adequate fire protection, the minimum acceptable standards for provision of fire safety shall be as follows, unless otherwise approved by the fire marshal:
The minimum size of water mains servicing fire hydrants shall be six (6) inches.
A loop system will be required for water mains servicing fire hydrants.
On-site and/or off-site hydrants must be installed with a maximum travel distance of four hundred (400) feet between hydrants.
Water mains for fire purposes must be capable of furnishing water at the hydrant at the rate of one thousand (1,000) gallons per minute (gpm) minimum.
Water mains servicing fire hydrants and required hydrants must be installed and fully serviceable no later than the time-direct delivery of combustible materials to the site.
