§ 2-115. Emergency purchases.

  • (a)

    If an emergency occurs that requires the purchases of supplies or contracted services during normal office hours, the department shall contact the purchasing agent who may make the purchase or authorize the department head to make the purchase. A purchase order shall be assigned at that time. The department head shall submit a memo explaining the emergency with a requisition to the purchasing agent and town clerk.

    (b)

    If an emergency occurs that requires the purchase of supplies or contracted services after normal office hours, the department head may make the purchase and send a requisition and a memo explaining the emergency to the purchasing agent and town clerk.

    (c)

    Emergency purchases shall not exceed two thousand five hundred dollars ($2500.00) without the approval of the town clerk.
