§ 20-1. Excise tax on premiums for property insurance.

  • There is hereby authorized the assessment and imposition, on every insurance company, corporation, or other insurer now engaged in or carrying on the business of property insurance, as shown by the records of the Office of Insurance Regulation of the Financial Services Commission, of an excise tax on the gross amount of receipts of premiums collected on property insurance policies covering property within the corporate limits of Baldwin. The excise tax shall be assessed in the amount authorized by Fla. Stat. § 175.101, and shall be in addition to any lawful license or excise tax now levied by the town.
