§ 14-3. Operation of golf carts on public streets.

  • (a)

    Subject to all requirements of § 316.212, Florida Statutes, all public, municipal streets within the corporate limits of the Town of Baldwin are hereby designated as safe for the operation of golf carts at all times.

    (b)

    Between the hours of sunset and sunrise, any golf cart operated on a public, municipal street within the corporate limits of Baldwin must be equipped with headlights, brake lights, turn signals, and a windshield.

    (c)

    Golf carts must have brake lights or a reflective road safety triangle on the rear of the cart.

    (d)

    The operation of golf carts on sidewalks is prohibited.

    (e)

    The mayor or his designee is hereby directed to post signs stating that the operation of golf carts is allowed upon the public, municipal streets and prohibited on sidewalks, subject to all requirements of § 316.212, Florida Statutes.

    (f)

    All future amendments to or re-codifications of § 316.212, Florida Statutes, shall be deemed automatically incorporated into this section.

    (g)

    Violations of this section shall be punished as a either a moving or non-moving violation of Chapter 318, Florida Statutes as set forth in § 316.212, Florida Statutes.
