§ 12-118. Extermination; permit required; fee; penalty.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any exterminator to perform exterminating services within the limits of the town for a fee or charge of one hundred dollars ($100.00) or more without first obtaining an inspection permit.

    (b)

    The application for such permit shall be made on a form furnished by the town.

    (c)

    A permit fee of three dollars ($3.00) per thousand dollars ($1,000.00) shall be paid to the town at the time the application is filed, with a minimum three-dollar fee payable.

    (d)

    As used in this section, "exterminating services" means the treatment or prevention of infestation by pests including insects and animals, by the application of chemicals or by other methods.

    (e)

    Violation of the terms of subsection (a) shall be a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not more than two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) for each separate violation.
